I have discovered Twitter.

Well i have been a bit quiet on the blogging front as i have discovered......Twitter,although i am getting used to it i still prefer blogging and facebook.
So far we have had a good weekend the weather was good yesterday,Caitlin has her friend Rachel with her so is being kept occupied and we had a couple of bikes hired out yesterday.
Today the weather does not look too good but lets be optimistic and hope it will pick up and the sun will make a show at sometime today.

Turner opening.

Had a busy day yesterday (without hiring a bike) with the Turner opening, was great to see the Harbour Arm heaving with people. Lets hope it carries on this way and a few more hiring bikes from us. Already today had two bikes hired for the day, a couple more and il be happy (am i being greedy) seriously its looking good for us and for Margate.

Well.....our first year over and a new one starts.

Well thats it our first year over and our second begins, its been a year to the day that we started the business and this blog. A lot has happened and not all good or business related, firstly having been diagnosed with cancer back in May 2010, my Dad finally lost his battle to that horrible disease last month. As they say "life goes on" so here we are ready for the "new season" i opened up at 9.15am this morning and by 9.40am had already hired one bike out. So here we go lets hope this season is better than last, hopefully with the Turner opening next week things will pick up.

Its been a while.

Its been a while since i updated this blog but as it is the "close season" it has been quiet on the bike hire front.
Although we had a enquiry last weekend to see if we were open,we had to let them know we open at the end of April.
Away from the bikes as a family we are going through a bit of a stressful time of it,my Dad was diagnosed with cancer back in May last year, and initially had chemotherapy up until December and all was going well,so much so they decided to give him a rest from the treatment until March.
Over the last couple of weeks my Dad has been a bit under the weather and feeling tired and having little appetite,My Mum decided to contact his Doctor at the Royal Marsden Hospital who asked him to go in for a CTI scan, of which we got the results on Thursday and which was not good.
Having initially had primary Stomach cancer, with tumors on his Lungs,Liver and some Lymph nodes which shrank with chemotherapy have now returned more aggressive and extra have grown elsewhere.
We have to return to the hospital tomorrow to see where we go next,we think we will be told the only course of action will be palliative care, which we are ok with as we do not my Dad to go through anymore discomfort or pain.

A spot of urban Fox hunting.

Its time for a spot of urban Fox hunting here in Tufnell Park, those mangy little critters are getting on my bloody nerves.

Three times this week we have had one under our bedroom window making noise like its being raped by a Rottweiler.

This time next week i hope to be walking around in a Fox fur Davey Crockett hat,on a serious note Foxes are becoming a major problem around here and in London in general.

A quick check on the legalities before i start my cull but my gun is at the ready,so Basil beware im on your tail !!

A flying visit to Planet Thanet.

We had to make a flying visit to Margate/Ramsgate, today to collect a few things but en route we passed through Birchington and the first Thanet resident we saw was an old feller wearing a ladies sunday best hat with a stuffed bird poking out of his jacket dancing across the road.....ONLY IN PLANET THANET.
Living in London as we do, we very rarely see some of the things we have seen in Thanet !!
