Its been a while since i updated this blog but as it is the "close season" it has been quiet on the bike hire front.
Although we had a enquiry last weekend to see if we were open,we had to let them know we open at the end of April.
Away from the bikes as a family we are going through a bit of a stressful time of it,my Dad was diagnosed with cancer back in May last year, and initially had chemotherapy up until December and all was going well,so much so they decided to give him a rest from the treatment until March.
Over the last couple of weeks my Dad has been a bit under the weather and feeling tired and having little appetite,My Mum decided to contact his Doctor at the Royal Marsden Hospital who asked him to go in for a CTI scan, of which we got the results on Thursday and which was not good.
Having initially had primary Stomach cancer, with tumors on his Lungs,Liver and some Lymph nodes which shrank with chemotherapy have now returned more aggressive and extra have grown elsewhere.
We have to return to the hospital tomorrow to see where we go next,we think we will be told the only course of action will be palliative care, which we are ok with as we do not my Dad to go through anymore discomfort or pain.

Hi Mitch sorry I have only just spotted this post or I would have responded earlier. I am sorry to hear about your Dad, give him a hug from us and I hope all is well. XXX Don
ReplyDeleteThanks Don,as expected my dad was too unwell to carry on with anymore treatment so he is at home getting palliative care from the Macmillan nurses, they come in a few times a week.
ReplyDeleteHe has been bed ridden since Wednesday and is sleeping nearly 23 hours a day.
Again thanks for your thoughts Don and we hope you are well too.
